Quarter Horse Leaders Announced For Louisiana Downs Meet

BOSSIER CITY, LA�MARCH 30, 2015�David Alvarez and Raul Ramirez, Jr., shared Leading Jockey honors, Carlos Saldivar was the Leading Trainer and Ana Alvidrez walked away with the Leading Owner title at the just concluded Louisiana Downs Quarter Horse Meet for 2015.

Alvarez and Ramirez, Jr. each rode 47 winners to tie for the top jockey honors.

David Alvarez compiled a 47-36-30 record from 181 starts with his mounts in the money 62% of the time. They earned $533,476. Raul Ramirez, Jr. finished with a 47-26-26 record from his 185 mounts that were in the money 56% of the time with earnings of $288,530.

Jockey John Hamilton finished in third with 34 winners on 166 mounts and $259,149 in earnings.

In the trainer category Carlos Saldivar edged Martin Trejo with 31 to 28 wins.

Saldivar's record of 31-24-32 from 200 starts produced a 44% in the money clip. His stable earned $263,992.

Trejo finished second with 28-9-7 from only 77 starts and a whopping 77% in the money clip that totaled $366,157. Vann Haywood was third with 18 winners from 82 starts and $142,319 money earned.

Ana Alvidrez owned horses finished in the money 78% of their starts to propel her to the top the owner's board. From 23 starts, her horses compiled an 11-5-2 record and earned $227,293.

Rogelio Marquez, Jr. finished second with nine winners from 19 starts while earnings $64,795. Jose Barron was the third leading owner on eight wins from 26 starts and earnings of $57,885.
