Stall Applications For 2022 Evangeline Downs Quarter Horse Season Due By August 17


The 46-day Evangeline Downs Quarter Horse season begins on Wednesday, October 5.

OPELOUSAS, LA–AUGUST 10, 2022–The 2022 American Quarter Horse season at Evangeline Downs will begin on Wednesday, October 5.  The meet will consist of 46 days of racing and concludes December 20.  First post each night is scheduled for 5:35pm Central time.   

Stall applications are due by Wednesday, August 17.  Horsemen interested in an application can visit the track website at www.evdracing.com and click on the Horsemen’s Info tab.  The racing office can be contacted directly at 337-594-3000.

The main events on the 2022 stakes calendar are the $1,000,000 Louisiana Million and the $100,000-added Evangeline Downs Futurity.  Trials for the Futurity will take place on Friday, November 18.  Louisiana Million trials, restricted to Louisiana-bred runners, will take place on Friday, November 25.  Finals for both events will take place on Saturday, December 17.

The racing calendar will be Wednesday through Saturday, with a couple of exceptions.  Thanksgiving week will feature Tuesday racing, with a dark day on Thanksgiving.  The closing week of the season will feature racing on Monday and closing day, Tuesday, December 20.
